Fran Tite was on the verge of retirement when she first moved to Burnie, but couldn’t stay away from the family dog ââgrooming business. Now Mrs. Tite and her son Sam are preparing to open Doggy Hair Doos Dog Grooming‘s second location in Wynyard. Mr Tite said the move to a new location was in response to demand. âWe’ve had a lot of interest from Wynyard, Stanley, Forest, so we’re looking at branching out that way,â Mr. Tite said. Ms Tite said she had worked in the industry for 18 years and was going to retire after moving to the Northwest Coast, but found herself there. She said since opening her salon in Burnie in November, she has been “going all out”. âSam moved two months ago, and I said ‘this is it, you have to help me, I’m too busy,’â Ms. Tite said. Mr Tite said they worked together on the Gold Coast and his mother trained him and his five other siblings. Ms Tite said each of her six children was born with a mower in hand. âI don’t even call it a job, it’s a hobby,â she said. Mr Tite will run the Wynyard store, he said all sizes and breeds are welcome. Ms Tite said she would continue to do the small dogs at Burnie and intended to expand the size of her store at the same location.
