Interactive gun The Texas Chainsaw Massacre the video game is making its way into the next year, with Leatherface (duh!), the cook and the hitchhiker already confirmed as characters.
Also in the mix? Players will face Grandpa Sawyer, the oldest member of the family featured in Tobe Hooper’s original classic. But what role will grandfather play?
While Leatherface and the other family members will likely be the ones doing the hits, Gun teases this afternoon that Grandpa’s role will be a little different.
“Hammer us with your theories on the role of Grandpa,” the team tweeted today, leading fans to speculate on different ways the character could be involved in gameplay.
“You have to feed him!” one fan guessed, while another wondered if it would serve as some sort of “watch/alert” system. Several other fans guessed Grandpa would be included as “a way to finish off the survivors”, with other family members introducing captured players to Grandpa the same way he was used in the nightmare. by Hooper in 1974.

Texas Chain Seen Massacre will launch in 2023 on Playstation®4, Playstation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, and will launch in Game Pass on Xbox and PC.
The game will feature classic villains from the movies as well as new family members, and the events of the Chain saw the game will take place *before* Tobe Hooper’s original classic.
Kane Hoder plays Leatherface, and Ed Nealwho played the hitchhiker in Tobe Hooper’s original horror classic, will reprise the role in the upcoming game.
Here is the plot synopsis: “A group of five young adults led by Ana Flores sets out to find her missing sister. What they found was terror beyond their wildest nightmares.
“Why, old grandfather is the best killer that ever existed!”
