First ‘dinner in the dark’ pop-up to test foodie senses at country hotel

0

A unique dining concept that started in Paris in 2004 is opening its first pop-up restaurant in a British hotel.

Dans Le Noir?, the famous dinner in the dark, will welcome guests to the Swinfen Hall Hotel, a stately mansion in the heart of Staffordshire, from March 1-31.

The In The Dark? collection offers the possibility of tasting gourmet, creative and seasonal cuisine in complete darkness, accompanied and served by unexpected guides. The concept is an original experience that allows diners to reassess the perception of taste and touch, while reclaiming and invigorating the senses.

Taste buds will be elated and invigorated by the exquisite meal, served by experienced waiters and waitresses in the purest darkness. No photography is allowed to maintain the blackout.

Surprise menus will delight diners, using the best seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, free-range and free-range meats, accompanied by a refined and specially selected wine. Guests will be exposed to flavors, aromas, textures and temperatures, to fully awaken the senses.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by the blind guide and escorted to a table where an introduction to the experience will be given and service will begin. The guests will only be informed of the contents of the menu at the end of the event.

Swinfen room is a magnificent 250 year old country manor house set in 100 acres with landscaped gardens and a private deer park located near Lichfield, with 18 beautifully appointed bedrooms.

The experience including a three-course dinner and wine costs £95 per person. To book contact: https://swinfenhallhotel.co.uk/dining-in-the-dark/
