High Dog coming soon to HBO Max. The dog grooming competition series, hosted by Matt Rogers, will air later this month. It has been revealed that Robin Thede and Jess Rona will be judging the contestants on the upcoming TV show.
HBO Max revealed more about the new competition series in a press release.
“High Dog, HBO Max’s creative tail-to-tail dog grooming competition series featuring dog breeds of all kinds kicks off with its first six episodes on Thursday September 24.
Emmy® Nominated Robin Thede (A black lady sketch show) joins acclaimed dog groomer Jess Rona to judge imaginative challenges and quirky themes meant to highlight the best looks for man’s best friend. These dog makeover wizards compete to turn K-9s into K-10s. Matt Rogers (Bodybuilders) serves as the show’s host.
The cutest competition series ever, each episode features three dog groomers competing against each other over two rounds. Rogers provides comedic commentary as Rona leads the jury with her in-depth knowledge of breeds and proper grooming techniques, with Thede serving as the “top†expert evaluating outrageous and mind-blowing transformations. The judges determine who wins the Best in Show, with the lucky groomer taking home $ 10,000 and a first place rosette. Rona Groomed’s coffee table book and social platforms, including her slow-mo blow-dry videos, inspired the series.
Jax Media wrapped up production on the four-week series this summer in Simi Valley following full union guidelines and COVID protocols, with no positive results from the cast, crew, and producers. Tests were carried out regularly during four weeks of production, from loading to strike. “
