Kris Boyd feels Rangers ‘overhaul’ is imminent and is convinced Gio van Bronckhorst doesn’t trust the team

Worried Kris Boyd thinks Gio van Bronckhorst’s recent action has shown he doesn’t trust his entire Rangers squad.

The Dutchman didn’t make a single change in the narrow win over struggling St Johnstone in difficult conditions at McDiarmind Park.

This follows just one substitution in the draw with Motherwell on Sunday.

Former Ibrox hero Boyd believes this could show the Dutchman is unhappy with his options in the Rangers dressing room.

Asked not to make a change during the game, Boyd told Sky Sports: “No he didn’t, and he only made one at the weekend.

“I don’t really think Giovanni van Bronckhorst trusts his team. I think when you look at the European games and the effort, but during the games against Borussia Dortmund there weren’t a lot of changes no more.

“I don’t know, you look at Borna Barisic; he plays a lot of games and then he doesn’t find himself.

“Leon Balogun is back, Calvin Bassey is back, Glen Kamara is back and Ryan Jack is back. Steven Davis, where is he? So there aren’t really many changes from the manager.

“You kind of get the feeling that if you want that opportunity, it’s not really coming for the Rangers players.

“I think those who have the shirt, if they continue to perform, there is a reluctance to change it.

“That tells us maybe there could be a revamp coming this summer.

“I think the last few games told us that he didn’t trust a team very much.”
