A brand new dog grooming salon in Carlisle welcomed its first four-legged customers in February.
The Muddy Paw operates from a refurbished lounge in the popular garden centre, Houghton Hall.
The company has recruited a team of certified grooming experts to provide its extensive range of services, with Senior Groomer Chanelle McDowell and Grooming Assistant Chloe Watmough heading up the Carlisle branch.
In addition to traditional grooming services, including bathing and styling, nail trimming and hand stripping, the team offers additional special treatments. From paw cures to deep facial cleanses and puppy care packages, there are plenty of options for treating your pooch.
The salon also offers bespoke canine wellness treatments, with a particular focus on pet mental health. On site, team members can provide advice to owners on specific welfare issues, as well as general animal care questions.
Owner James Rubython said: “We’ve had a real buzz with our unique offering in Carlisle, bringing grooming and wellness under one roof to provide owners with total comfort.
“We attach great importance to the link between our services and the general well-being of pets. For dogs, life after lockdown has meant readjusting to owners being farther from home, which has led to rising levels of anxiety. Getting your dog into a consistent wellness routine can help lessen the signs of this, while also giving him more opportunities for socialization.
Muddy Paw treatments are open to all types of dogs, accommodating different breeds and sizes in the salon, where groomers will keep your pet comfortable for the duration of their appointment.
