12. Rat terrier

I Heart Dogs notes that terriers can be a difficult category of dog to navigate if you don’t want a dog that will prove difficult to groom. Many terriers have a metallic coat that requires sophisticated grooming techniques. But not so much the rat terrier, a breed with very short hair. Rat terriers shed, but they stay pretty clean if you wipe their coat down every once in a while.
